Lombok Pottery

Traditional village pottery arrives from Lombok, the Indonesian island directly east of Bali. These pots and tableware are made from terracotta by women villagers and fired with the same process as done hundreds of years ago: in open-air kilns with low heat. Fuels are coconut husks, bark and grasses. Various oils are applied to finish and smoothed down to make them shiny.
