Prayer Rugs  

Prayer rugs have a directional design which traditionally should point to the East for use during prayer as a protection from the ground. Deep religious beliefs are expressed in prayer five times daily by the Islamic communities throughout the world. Prostration before Allah is at sunrise, noon, mid-afternoon, suset and night. Times are calculated to the nearest minute according to a person’s longitude and latitude creating an endless wave synchronized prayer around the world. During prayer, as done by the Prophet Mohammad, the self is surrendered to God.
